Questions therapists ask us

Do I pay per client or per match?

No. The membership is flat — monthly or annual — no matter how many clients find you. Kindred never touches your session fees; clients pay you directly, however you already bill.

Can I pay to show up more often?

No — and that's a feature. Matching is a compatibility filter, not an auction. Clients trust their matches because no one can buy a better position, which makes every match you receive worth more.

What if my caseload fills up?

Flip "accepting new clients" off and you stop appearing in new matches while keeping your profile, conversations, and history. Flip it back on when a spot opens. Pause or cancel the membership anytime.

Who can join?

Licensed therapists and counselors (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, PhD/PsyD, and equivalents) in good standing. We verify your identity and your license against your state board before your profile goes live — so every therapist a client sees on Kindred has been checked. Your license details are part of your profile and shown to clients.

Where do I manage billing?

Right here on the web, in your portal — subscribe, switch between monthly and annual, or cancel in two clicks. The mobile app is for your matches and messages; your account works everywhere you sign in.
